C&D South West was born when Darren took the decision to relocate the business to Somerset for New Opportunities and took over the former Chard and Axminster Transport (CATS) Depot

October – C & D’s First Involvement in West Country Carnivals by providing a collection float in Chard Carnival

Became member of the Road Haulage Association (RHA).

Launch of the Department for Transport (DfT) GB Longer Semi Trailer Trial with 6 new trailers taken on fleet as part of the trial and an investment of £400,000

June – Launch of the Palletforce iPhone App for Delivery Tracking

December – Launch of New C & D Branding and Vehicle Livery

February – Opening of Dorset Depot to Support Palletforce Operations. First time accreditation of Fleet Operators Recognition Scheme (FORS) Bronze Award

June – Presented with Networker of the Year at the Palletforce Annual Gala Dinner Awards

February – Surpassed the 25 million pallet mark through the Palletforce Network

March – Driver Academy Scheme Launched

June – Presented with Networker & Brand Ambassador Award at the Palletforce Annual Gala Dinner

September – 15 Year Founder Member Dinner at the Palletforce Hub

October – Extended local Carnival support to 6 other Somerset Carnival Circuits to include Chard, Wellington, Taunton, Ilminster, Bridgwater, Glastonbury

March – First Electrical Vehicle on Company Fleet, Nissan Leaf Company Car

October – Winners at the Somerset Business Awards for the Family Business of The Year

December – Closure of Dorset Depot to Consolidate Operations at Chard Site

March – Continued to support the UK economy as Key Workers throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic

May – Featured in the Guardian with ‘Life on the Road during Lockdown’ Photo Essay & Featured in RHA Film for Drivers by Drivers.

June – Launch of Industry Leading Technology – “Pallet Selfies” to clients through our Palletforce Alliance Portal

July – Record Volumes through the Palletforce Network & Silver Medals Awarded to C & D Staff for Lockdown Efforts.

September – Partnered with Ecologi and officially a Carbon Positive Workforce by offsetting our Carbon Footprint

Celebrating 35 Years in Business

February – C & D South West Wins National Logistics Award As Brand Ambassador

March – Supported the transport of Aid to the Ukrainian Border with our Trailer amongst other Local Businesses to support refugees

April – Purchased our additional Martock site

June – provided our Trailer as use as a stage for the Queens Platinum Jubilee celebrations in Chard, Somerset

September – attended the prestigious Motor Transport Awards in London as Finalists for the Customer Care Award

September – The Iconic Somerset band ‘The Wurzels’ performed on the C & D trailer stage at the Somerset County Show
