Somerset Business Awards, Hints & Tips Event!
C & D were honoured to be invited to the Somerset Business Awards, Hints & Tips Event organised by the Somerset Chamber last week!
Judges and previous winners were on-hand to share some invaluable advice on how to maximise the chances of submitting an award-winning entry at a lunchtime briefing held at the Holiday Inn, in Taunton, last Thursday (4 July).
Awards sponsors at the event included Jon Beake, of the Wessex Reserve Forces and Cadets Association and sponsor of the Private and Public Collaboration Award; Mike Cahill, of main sponsor Albert Goodman and sponsor of the Family Business Award and Lizzie Ginbey, of the Teapot Creative and sponsor of the New Business Award.
Lorna Hammond (Depot Manager) attended on behalf of CDSW to give advice to those thinking of entering the awards.
“C & D South West have been involved with the Somerset Business Awards for a few years it is great to see the event going into its 15th year with a new venue and branding for 2019!
CDSW were honored to be winners of the Family Business Award last year and I was delighted to be invited along by the Chamber to the Hints and Tips event at the Holiday Inn in Taunton.
As a family owned and operated road transport distribution company since 1987, it was a very proud moment for our family to gain this accolade last year and a real morale booster for all the team.
It was lovely to see previous entrants, winners and judges and discuss all aspects of the event whilst giving tips to the forum about what I feel helped C & D South West to win the award and the benefits we found from entering. I wish the best of luck to all the 2019 entries and if anyone else that was unable to attend today’s event, feel free to get in touch with myself if you would like any more information!” – Lorna Hammond, Depot Manager
Loren Gray, Chamber Events Manager, said: “The briefing was a great opportunity for businesses to find out why they should enter and how to wow the judges and I’d like to thank everyone who came along and took part.”
The awards last year was a very proud moment for all at CDSW last year and would like to thank Somerset Chamber for inviting us back to talk for this event.
