This year has the rising cost pressures on every sector across the UK, and as such the Christmas operations for our network are not open as usual for 2022. We have reviewed our Christmas operating arrangements in the light of continuing economic and cost challenges for our industry. It is with this in mind that the operating plan for 2022 is outlined below.

Although in 2021 collection and delivery services were suspended between Christmas and New Year, we can confirm that a limited delivery service will be available for 2022, that is outlined in more detail below. Our network will review the Christmas arrangements for 2023 in a similar manner and communicate the plans accordingly in due course.

Christmas Opening & Delivery Manifesting

Friday 23rd December will be the last full day of operations, and the final full day of standard collections and deliveries before the new year.

There will be a limited delivery service ONLY on the 28-30th December, however any deliveries to be made on these dates must be pre-arranged and collected on or before Friday 23rd December 2022.

All deliveries MUST be manifested before 17:00 on the 23rd December and must be manifested as A service (24 hours) only. Surcharges will be available only on request and the required delivery day between Christmas and New Year must be clearly stated in the top line of the manifest notes on Alliance. If there is no specification, the consignment will be delivered on Tuesday 3rd January 2023.

Please check that your customer will be open to accept deliveries if you do choose to send any freight between the 28-30th December, re-delivery charges will apply if freight is manifested for these dates and the consignee is closed.

There will be no collection service between 28-30th December and no Saturday services available on the 31st December 2022. Standard collection and delivery service will resume on Tuesday 3rd January 2023, except in Scotland due to the Scottish Bank Holiday.

This is the operational plan for our network, however if you do have a URGENT consignment that requires a special delivery between 28-30th December, we will be running limited staff and may be able to assist on a direct basis, however this is not guaranteed and will depend on availability.
