Coronavirus Operational Update (02/11/2020)

OPERATIONAL UPDATE

Dear Customer,

As I am sure you are aware, there has been further restrictions imposed across the country and other sectors this week in an effort to reduce to increase of cases that the nation is faced with currently.

As Road Haulage is deemed as an essential service, there should be little to no disruption to our service levels that we can provide you as our customer, as was the case in the first national lockdown earlier this year.

Safety is a top priority for us all and following the latest announcement from the government at the weekend, we wanted to keep you assured of our operational procedures at C&D South West and across the Palletforce Network in line with the COVID-19 Guidance:

  • Contactless Delivery – we continue to ensure contactless delivery procedures by adhering to our kerbside only delivery policy and not handing over the EPOD devices to our customers as per our previous update. In the event of an EPOD being unavailable, paperwork should be printed from Alliance, with the driver recording the consignee name on the paperwork themselves. Drivers will endeavour to take photos of the pallet if practical.

  • Delivery Paperwork – Due to the pandemic and reducing contact, our delivery depots across the network may or may not choose to handle delivery paperwork. If delivery paperwork is requested, our delivery depots across the network will print off in the normal way, but the driver will record the consignee name themselves and not handover the paperwork, to limit contact. If the consignee requires paperwork the consignor should affix to the pallet. This change will continue, the network are currently reviewing all paperwork processes as it remains our intention not to handle paperwork within the network to embrace our technology and reduce our impact on the environment.

Please can we ask that if you have any changes to your schedule as our valued customer, e.g. closures, changes in operating times, reduced staff etc, that you contact us as soon as possible so that we can ensure that we are able to accommodate your needs and continue to offer you the best possible service!

Whilst our services will continue throughout the lockdown, should there be any imminent changes due to the lockdown we will endeavour to keep all customers informed as soon as possible.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support and supporting the countries battle against COVID19.

If you have any further questions or queries, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
