Thousands of locals enjoyed the recent Somerset County Show event took place on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September 2022 at Taunton Racecourse. C&D supported the event by providing two trailers and units to be used for the community stage.

For many years, C&D have supported and sponsored local events by providing mobile lorry stages free of charge, including The Somerset County Show, The Chardstock Street Fayre, Love the Lorry, Ilminster ‘Party in The Park’ and Platinum Jubilee Celebrations in Chard.

The county show aims to showcase the very best Somerset has to offer, with a great emphasis on participation and community involvement. The show featured hundreds of stalls and activities including; equestrian events, fun dog shows, classic vehicles, cooking demonstrations, food and drink festival, alpaca village and childrens activities.

The event also provided live music across the weekend and saw a great variety of local talent taking to the stage, providing entertainment for the community on such a special occasion. The Sunday was headlined by the iconic West-Country band – The Wurzels.

The Wurzels are an English Scrumpy and Western band from Somerset, England, best known for their number one hit “The Combine Harvester” and number three hit “I Am a Cider Drinker” which drew in great crowds, enjoying the live music and fun atmosphere.
